Betsy has been making jewelry for as long as she can remember. Following her childhood passion for fashion and adornment, she studied at Rhode Island School of Design. Graduating with a BFA in Metalsmithing in 1989, she moved to San Francisco and went to work creating her first collection. Incorporating found textures and objects, and drawing inspiration from mythology and the simple forms of nature, her work is elegant and modern with a warm organic sensibility.

In addition to her namesake collection, Betsy has collaborated on collections with fashion icons Cher, Betsy Johnson, and Kate Spade. In 2011 Betsy opened Love & Luxe in her longtime Mission-district neighborhood, as a local mecca for custom, one-of-a-kind, and limited production handmade jewelry from independent studio artists around the world. She continues to produce Betsy Barron Jewellery in the store’s working studio, as well as featuring the work of 45 other local and international artists.
